The old town of Frigiliana, of Moorish-Mudejar origin, was declared a Historic Artistic Site, where the neighborhood popularly known as El “Barribarto” stands out, making it one of the best preserved historic centers of Arab origin in Spain.

Monuments
The headquarters of the Nuestra Señora del Carmen cane honey factory stand out, the only one in Europe, located in a 16th century building and popularly known as “El Ingenio”. In addition to the Old Fountain dating from the 17th century, La Ermita del Ecce Homo or the church of San Antonio de Padua from the 17th century, among many others.
Archeological Museum
El Apero, home to the Archaeological Museum of Frigiliana, is a building dating from the 17th century where the muleteer activities linked to "El Ingenio" were attended.
It was inaugurated in 2009 and its collection is made up of some 125 pieces corresponding to the period from the Neolithic to the 19th century and from nearby archaeological sites such as the Cueva de los Murciélagos, the Higuerón river, the Cerrillo de las Sombras, among other places.

Jardín botánico Santa Fiora
In this garden we can find specimens of plants that have been useful to the inhabitants of Frigiliana over the last few centuries, whether for food, healing purposes, basket weaving, shoemaking, the silk industry (which reached its maximum development in Muslim times), manufacture of paper or perfumes, etc.
Nerja
Just six kilometers away we find the tourist town of Nerja. Its attractions include El Balcón de Europa, with views of the Mediterranean Sea and the surrounding mountains, sandy beaches and coves next to cliffs, the Cuevas de Nerja, one of the most topographically developed caves in Andalusia, as well as a wide gastronomic offer and leisure for all tastes.
